Open to all genders 16+ with no previous experience or very minimal experience as this course will be focused on the basics (under 16 youth are encouraged to join junior derby if they are interested in learning to skate).
1 hour sessions for 8 weeks.
Cost will be $80 plus $30 for insurance. Fee and proof of insurance will be required in order to participate (you will be given further instructions for this).
Saturdays from 1:15PM – 2:15PM with an opportunity to practice skills individually until 2:45PM at St. James United Church, 221 Romaine St., in the gymnasium. Doors will be open at 1:00PM, you are expected to be ready to skate by 1:15PM.
Starting January 21st, 2023 and running until March 11th.
There will be an open house on January 7th, 2023 to fill out paperwork, help navigate insurance and ask questions about gear or try on loaner gear. Please arrive at 1:00PM.
Required equipment is roller skates or roller blades, dual impact certified helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards.
Lessons will be taught by Julie Stender (Car On Fyre), certified Skate IA Level 1 instructor.
Please note: The space will be shared with others who will be practicing park skating at the same time, but it will be divided for the safety of all participants.

No skating experience necessary – bring your own protective gear and skates (we have a limited collection of gear to loan out on a first come, first served basis).
An opportunity to continue on into the Derby 101 program will be offered following the 4 week Learn to Skate program – ask about a discount on your registration fee!
There will be a “Meet & Greet” Tuesday, September 20th, 2022 at the Village on Argyle from 7:00 – 9:00 PM where you can meet us, try on gear, watch some derby practice and get answers to your burning questions!

To all the refs, officials, NSO’s, audio techs (), photographers, media, Cogeco MyTV, announcers, vendors (CJ Birch, Britt), the half-time show (Critter Visits), Chuckwagon BBQ, Champs Bar & Grill, and especially to all of the amazing skaters (from ORD and beyond!) and every single one of YOU who came out to cheer, support and most of all DERBY: We and thank you and can’t even wait to do it again next month!!

Come watch an action-packed evening of roller derby as Peterborough Area Roller Derby (PARDy) takes on Ottawa Roller Derby (ORD) by jamming two years of ‘lockdown’ energy into one thrilling night!!
The PARDy doesn’t stop there, we had to include everyone by hosting a black and white scrimmage: strangers, teammates, friends and foes going head to head for the love of the sport and to say ‘Down with the Sickness,’ we are here to PARDy!
This PARDy includes:
-Half-time games, try your luck at a mask slinging contest -MVP and Fan Faves -Vendors (TBA) -Bake sale -Kids’ table -Danger Zone seating -PARDy and ORD merchandise -Join us for the after party (TBA)
We are reuniting and it feels so good! SEE YOU THERE!!
